Rumors make the world go round! Not really, but I need to say something witty here.
Stupid jerk! How dare he pursue an education in order to ensure he will have the financial means
to support his fiance! Okay, enough ranting. Mamoru isn't so much less affectionate as he is less romantic.
It's his feelings that are genuine - Usagi knows he loves her and he will do anything for her, and frequently
DOES. He can't possibly love Usagi or Chibi Usa more than the other because Usagi is his romantic lover
and Chibi Usa is his daughter. Two entirely different relationships. Mamoru never insults Usagi or teases her
when they date. Even in the break-up period, he never makes it personal (remember WHY he broke up with
her in the first place.) He buys Usagi gifts left and right, even when she's nasty to him (i.e. the glass
slippers), because he doesn't like seeing her upset. Also, before he leaves for Harvard, he gives Usagi
an engagement ring and outright tells her that he loves her. That's not something you do if you're
trying to be mean.
He never says anything to the effect. He even tells
Usagi in the Stars anime before the Three Light's last concert that he is ending his life as Seiya Kou.
In both anime and manga, the whole guy disguise was meant to get the attention of Kakyuu. Kakyuu in the anime,
upon seeing the Three Light's male forms, asks why they chose "these forms," implying that this is the
FIRST time they've been male. If Star Fighter preferred being a man, Kakyuu would not be surprised at seeing
her male.
That plotline did indeed exist in the
original Japanese anime, as well as all international versions. However, it did NOT exist in the manga.
I originally
had a huge explanation of why this is false, but I've decided to cut it and write a much longer one as
a full-length article in the future for Tuxedo Mission. But for the purpose of this site, this
implication is outright false and is proven false over and over again during the course of the show.
People who say this would do well to actually watch the show before stating such falsities and blatant
disregards for the truth about the show. Mamoru repeatedly tells Usagi he loves her, she repeatedly
tells him she loves him, their love for each other is constantly shown as an overwhelming powerful force...
how do you force that out of someone? Argh...
Funny, I seem to remember that
Usagi actually tended to get quite disturbed the one time Haruka kissed her (in the manga) or when she'd
flirt with her (anime.) Uranus only kissed Usagi (as Sailor Moon) once, and almost kissed Usagi
as Haruka, but stopped. A third kiss actually occured in a dream sequence. Every time it happened,
Usagi would get extremely shocked and upset, as opposed to enjoying a kiss. Obviously, if Usagi is homosexual,
she would not be interested in men, period, so we can rule that out easily. She also never shows a
romantic interest in women, and her crush on Haruka in the anime quickly disappears when she discovers
Haruka's actual gender (which Haruka purposely revealed.) Hence, we would have to conclude she's not
bisexual either.
No, no, no! This started off as a newsgroup joke and
some people started taking it seriously ^_^; They've been seen together in both the anime and manga, so
they can't be the same person. It was always intended as a joke and nothing more.
Poor Mamo-chan, nobody seems to like him. So, where to start? If Mamoru was gay, than he wouldn't go
and marry a woman...oh wait, I said that already. He never loves Fiore-he even attacked him to protect
Usagi. Mamoru does not love his daughter...oh, I said that already too. As for Mamoru mistreating Usagi, no
he doesn't, I said that too didn't I? What haven't I covered...oh yea, the shirts! You'd be surprised how
many straight men wear pink and purple shirts and how many gay men don't wear those colors. Besides, Mamoru
more often wears black sweaters or white-collar shirts than pink or purple.
Ikuko. Where do people get the idea that everyone in
Japan has an English name? Just because a lousy Americanized dub removes just about any sign
of the culture does not mean that Japan has an American name for everyone and everything.
Manga only. She actually had very little control
(if any) of the anime. This is why the anime and manga plotlines veer off into different directions
(compare the Dream arc of the manga to the SuperS anime).
Surprise! It's actually...Hotaru. I realize
this may be difficult to remember, but please do try.
She's only got Silence Glaive Surprise, Silence Wall,
and Death Reborn Revolution (Which only appears in the manga.) I don't know where this "Silent Blaster"
came from.
Great, now I've got images of that
horrible Boston accented freak of dubbing as Tuxedo Kamen. Thank you so very much.
Okay, I'd like to know when Usagi/Serenity/Sailor Moon's
hair has ever been red or green. No, art book pictures where everyone had alternate hair colors don't
count! Anyway, in the anime, Usagi's hair is always blonde no matter whether she's Sailor Moon,
Princess Serenity, or Neo-Queen Serenity. In the manga, Usagi has blonde hair as Sailor Moon and
Usagi, but as Princess Serenity and Neo-Queen Serenity, her hair is silvery white. Takeuchi mentions in
the first artbook that she originally planned to have Sailor Moon have blonde hair when transforming
and silver hair when she was actually Sailor Moon. However, she was told that silver would look too
plain on the artbook and tankubon covers, so she switched the hair color to blonde. She kept Serenity
with silver hair, and all incarnations of Serenity are shown with silver hair.
Then what is she using to transform
with for the rest of the show? The maboroshi no ginzuishou (Mystic Silver Crystal) is around during the
entire series, anime and manga, and it is the crux of Sailor Moon's power.
Actually, that weird eye of his is where the daimon Germatoid
is. Towards the end of S, Germatoid actually flies out of the lens of Dr. Tomoe's glasses
and attacks Uranus and Neptune. Tomoe can see perfectly fine with or without Germatoid in there.
Wise Man wasn't showing Chibi Usa memories
of Usagi being mean, especially considering he didn't even know who Usagi was. He was actually showing Chibi Usa
warped versions of memories of her family in the future and made her think that nobody loved her,
especially her parents.
Or you could try actually watching the show or reading the manga or reading
the interviews with Takeuchi in which she says explicitly that they're lesbians, or read the article in
the common legends section dealing with the censorship in the dub, or look at all the romantic pictures
of the two of them...look, there's not one shred of evidence that they're not lesbians. It's that simple.
Unless you're watching a foreign dub that has removed this element, they are lesbians. Get over it.
Government my foot. According
to the
Communications Act of 1934, the FCC may not act in a censorship role. While they can threaten to
revoke the license of a network that is running obscene or indecent material, they've gotten very lenient
as of late. It is the dubbing companies alone that decided to censor the show, for fear that parents
wouldn't let their children watch it. Money talks in the world of entertainment. And will you people
stop assuming there was graphic nudity left and right in the original show? Japanese television has network
restrictions on content too, you know, it's not just us. Even in the last episode, when Usagi was
flying naked, you could see that her body was drawn with very little detail. As for the rest, there
wasn't any graphic nudity to cut, though the dub did cut short some of the daimon star sequences.
Japan. He's a guy in the American version of the manga,
though.
Kunzite. Zoisite killed Nephrite, remember?
No, she's Sailor Cosmos in the
manga. She's a star seed in the anime. Come on, do your research!
Dark Dome Close is actually used by Pluto
to close the opening to the Tau Galaxy at the end of the Infinity Arc. Remember, Pluto is the senshi
of space-time, so she also deals with openings to other dimensions and galaxies. The Time-Space Door
does indeed close, but after it sucks up the entrance to the Tau Galaxy. It has nothing to do with stopping
time.
Actually, it's because
using the ginzuishou's full power kills the user, as seen at the end of the first season and in the R movie.
Queen Serenity couldn't send herself because she was dead from using the crystal. Sailor Moon hasn't died
permanently because something always revives her.
What the heck?! Haruka
turned into a car horn! *harnka, harnka!*
No, Saturn was not trying
to destroy the world. The Death Busters were the people trying to do that. Saturn was turned into a baby,
most likely so she could restart her life free from the tragedy that marred it before.
No, Tomoe Keiko (Souichi's
wife and Hotaru's mother) was already dead by the time the explosion took place. Hotaru was the one
who died in the explosion. The entity offered Tomoe a chance to revive Hotaru. He agreed and THAT'S
when he and Hotaru were possessed. Again, Tomoe's eye wasn't injured, the lens is where the
daimon that possessed him went to.
