Sailor Iron Mouse holds the phone in fear.
"EEP! Galaxia-sama found out I sold that expose on her to Hard Copy!"

  • Takeuchi wrote the break-up arc into the Black Moon arc of the manga.
The infamous break-up arc during the second portion of the SailormoonR anime was not written in the manga. The closest the manga comes to a break up is when Usagi and Mamoru each think the other is seeing someone else during the Infinity arc (Haruka and Michiru, respectively), but they resolve their issues rather quickly and they still don't break up.

  • "Raye" is short for "Rachael."
And she has an on again, off again relationship with "Ross"...seriously, Raye isn't short for anything in the dub. "Raye" is a girl's name, and no one in the English dub ever calls her anything else that would indicate that "Raye" is short for anything.

  • Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon has a plot of 5 Sailor Warriors who weild witchcraft that is used to destroy the Dark Kingdom's demons that try to gather energy.
Witchcraft? You're not one of those Jack Chick devotees are you? The Polish dub of the show does call the girls "Sorceresses" and the German version has a word (Zauberkraften) that can translate to "witchcraft" right in the title, but it can also mean a couple of other similar phrases that aren't exactly "witchcraft," such as "magic powers." However, since this was taken from an Amazon.com review of the ADV English dub release, it's still wrong.

  • Usagi Tsukino finds out she's a reincarnation of Princess Serenity, the daughter of Queen Serenity and inherit's the Moon Stick that performs exorsists that free demons from innocent humans.
Do the humans spew pea soup all over the place too? Oh, come on, I've been dying to make a joke about The Exorcist...

  • The dub changes "witchcraft" to "Super powers."
The Japanese version didn't call it witchcraft either. And the dub never mentions the term "super powers". So wrong both times!

  • Sailor Saturn's name is Hakaru.
The result of what happens when you throw Haruka and Hotaru into a blender. Either that or lots of blood.

  • Ikuko Tsukino's name in the dub is Barbara Tsukino. Rini calls her "momma Ikuko" during SuperS. However, the English actress is named "Barbara," which may be where this got started.

  • The leader of the Dark Kingdom is called Queen Perillia in the Japanese version.
This one is mixing a few different versions of the show. The Japanese name is "Queen Beryl." While there is no version that uses "Perillia," the German manga uses the name "Periglia," which is Italian for "dangerous one" and is pronounced like "Perillia."

  • Sailor Uranus' color is blue, Sailor Neptune is blue-green. In real-life, the planet colors for Uranus are blue-green, and Neptune blue. This would mean only one thing, the manga creator decided to switch roles, and their colors.
Or, it could mean that the character's colors represent their ELEMENTS and not their PLANETS. Haruka is the sky, hence the blue, and Neptune is the ocean, hence the sea green shade. But I guess once people figured out the Saturn/Pluto switch was bunk, they just moved on to new characters...

  • Jupiter was the god light, and Venus was a plant goddess. In the Sailor Moon world, Jupiter controls the element of plants, and Venus is the soldier of light, this means that Nako decided to switch their roles.
And while we're at it, let's prove that you have no knowledge of basic mythology. Both of these characters were designed by pulling elements of their mythological namesakes and the Japanese elements attributed to their planets. Jupiter, in mythology, was not only the ruler of the gods, but was also associated with the sky and thunder. Light never entered the picture at all. The reason Sailor Jupiter is also associated with plants is because the Japanese name for the planet Jupiter, "mokusei," literally means "wood star." The four guardian senshi are all associatedin some way with the four Japanese elements that are contained in the Japanese names of the planets. Hence why Jupiter uses both wood and thunder-based powers. Venus was certainly not a plant goddess - she was the goddess of love, hence why Sailor Venus is associated with love (and contains the Japanese word for "love," "Ai", in her name). The Japanese name for the planet Venus is "kinsei," "Gold star", and hence this ties Venus into the element of metal within the Asian elements. This is why Sailor Venus has so many gold attacks (and several attacks combining love and metal).

  • Makoto has to wear a different uniform because Juban High doesn't have one in her size.
Only the Jr. High had the problem with her uniform size. Juuban High has one in Makoto's size, and you can see her wearing the same uniform as the other girls during Sailor Stars and the Stars arc of the manga.

  • Usagi and Mamo-chan know each other through this guy that Usagi liked name Andrew.
Usagi and Mamoru had met long before Usagi knew he and Motoki were friends. In fact, Usagi was surprised Motoki was friends with the person she hated so much.

  • Usagi is a beautiful sailor scout that is also a moon princess but her mom the queen lost a fight long ago and had to send her and the other scouts to earth to start a new life and that if anything bad start to happen that this talking cat name Luna with go to her and the scouts to awaken their destiny however they dont know that Sailor Moon is the moonprincess till a few epidsode.
Her mom didn't lose a fight, the whole kingdom was obliterated and everyone was dead. Luna and Artemis were BOTH intended to find the Sailor Senshi again. And I'd have to say that 30 some odd episodes in is more than "a few episodes."

  • Mamo-chan is a hansome prince from earth and in the past he knew the Moon Princess Usagi and they were in love but a battle accured (the same one as above) and he ran away and fought.
It was Princess Serenity...and Mamoru is not a prince in the present. And they died together.

  • He is also Tuxedo Mask sworn to protect sailor moon..but he and her dont really remember the princess and prince thing till a few episodes...and it turns out that they have 2 children and are the queen and king of the universe in the future.
Again with the "few episodes" thing...it was a good 30 or so episodes before all that came out. They have ONE child. And they're king and queen of Crystal Tokyo, but it's never mentioned if they rule the universe (after all, Nemesis was a planet of refugees).

The following came from an article in an online magazine, "Metropolis Tokyo," an English-language net magazine about Japan. This article was about the Sailor Moon phenomenon, and it's rather obvious the author did next to no research considering some of the crazy blunders made...

  • Sailor Moon started as a manga in the late 80's.
Wait, so 1993 is now part of the 80's? AH! The 80's are trying to take over again!

  • One day Usagi comes across a mysterious cat with the mark of a crescent moon on its forehead, who reveals to her that she is in fact the earthbound manifestation of the extraterrestrial Princess Serenity.
Luna only told Usagi that she was Sailor Moon. Luna didn't even know that Usagi was Princess Serenity.

  • The Princess is one of the last survivors of the Moon Kingdom, which was destroyed by the evil Queen Belial (also known as the Negaforce).
Looks like he gave up on the Japanese version and started watching the dub...okay, first, it's "Beryl." Second, Beryl is not the "Negaforce," which is the dub name for Queen Metaria.

  • original scouts were Sailors Mercury, Venus, Jupiter and Mars, who were later joined by Sailor Uranus (yes, really!) among others.
Wait, so Neptune, Saturn, and Pluto just quit or something?

  • For the love interest, there is the mysterious hero Tuxedo Mask, who may or may not be the class geek Hitoshi.
Seeing how the class geek is Umino and there IS no guy named Hitoshi...I'm going to stick with "not."

  • The series is an ongoing struggle between the Scouts and the forces of Queen Belial, who possess ordinary mortals in their attempts to take over the Earth.
Beryl died at the end of the first series. People were very rarely possessed during the series. And the villains ambitions changed from series to series as well. But then you don't need me to tell you that - a quick skim of sites like The Tour will tell you that. So will actually WATCHING THE SHOW.

  • Saturn is a strong fighter, but because she guards the gate of time, she isn't part of the Series that much.
Either this person decided to apply the "Naoko screwed up!" method to the characters, or made a wacky typo...

  • Mistress 9 is on a quest to destroy the world with her infamous attack, Death Reborn Revolution.
Poor Saturn, not only was did Mistress 9 possess her, but now she's cribbing all her cool moves! And then screwing up what they do!

  • Usagi begins her heroine days when her cat Luna starts talking one day, and tells her that she is the Champion of Love and Justice.
Usagi and Luna met for the first time during the first episode of the show and the first chapter of the manga.

  • At first She is not too keen on the idea, but has no choice when her friends keep getting attacked by the Negaverse for their energy.
This makes it sound like she just stood there and let people drop like flies...

  • Rei is hot-headed and rushes into things without thinking.
Rei is actually fairly cautious and tries to form plans. She's just far more motivated than, say, Usagi.

  • The Starlights appear on Earth as boys because they were killed on Kinmoku and reborn as boys on Earth.
They never died, actually...the transgender disguises were entirely voluntary.
